Our School

Tullamore Educate Together National School is a non fee-paying primary school under the patronage of Educate Together, the national representative organisation for multi-denominational education in Ireland.

The School which follows the curriculum set by the Department of Education and Science, currently has

  • A Teaching Principal.
  • 5 Mainstream Teachers.
  • 4 Support Teachers.
  • 2 Special Needs Assistants.

This is the Friendship Tree and is a place for children to come if they want someone to play with.

Teachers ensure that children understand the meaning of the tree and use it in a sensitive and caring manner.

A Brief History

Tullamore Educate Together National School was established by a group of parents and other interested parties who came together in October 2003. This voluntary group worked for a year to

  • Raise funds.
  • Spread awareness about the school.
  • Obtain the necessary amount of enrolments.
  • Obtain temporary Premises
  • Find Teachers (most important!!)

The School received sanction from the Department of Education and Science in April 2004 and it opened in September 2004 with an initial roll of 19 children

There are now 100+ Children on the roll.
